Brainwriting
Japanese name: ブレインライティング
Materials
- 1 sheet of A4 paper per person
- A pen for each person
- A timer
How to play
- Use the theme “A gathering to enjoy on a rainy day”. Each person draws a grid of six rows and three columns, then writes three ideas in the first row within 5 minutes.
- At the signal, pass the paper to the person on your left. Read the ideas received and add up to three developments or different ideas in the next row. Drawings are allowed.
- Complete six rounds of 5 minutes, including the initial round, to fill the six rows. After row six, return sheets to their original owners. Do not erase others’ ideas; blanks are allowed.
- Read the completed sheets together and mark ideas people would like to try. Combine similar suggestions and choose one as a group.
- Present the chosen idea and any interesting combinations. Give everyone a chance to share an observation or pass, then finish.
Ways to adapt
