Each activity brings together materials, numbered instructions, a practical tip, and ways to adapt participation. Ages, group sizes and times are guidelines. Adjust the activity to the people taking part and the space available.
Research and editing
We consult public bodies, educational institutions, sports governing bodies, youth organizations and other sources, which are listed on each activity page. Traditional games have regional variations; the instructions here describe one practical way to play. The explanations and illustrations are our own. We do not reproduce song lyrics, existing scripts or other organizations’ images.
Read in different languages
Translations are prepared and stored in advance. Reading a page does not send its text to a translation service. Japanese names are also shown where useful for identifying a game. Source titles are kept in their original language.
