Musical Ball Pass
Japanese name: 音楽ボール回し
Materials
- One soft ball or stuffed toy
- Music
How to play
- Sit in a circle and agree to pass a ball clockwise by hand. Do not throw it or skip a person.
- Pass to the next person while music plays. Stop the ball when the music stops.
- Whoever holds it chooses one short action, such as a favorite animal’s movement. Everyone performs it together.
- If it stops with the same person again, they may offer the turn to a willing neighbor. End after 5–8 stops with everyone doing the final action.
Ways to adapt
Preschool children: everyone simply claps when the music stops. Younger primary school children: choose actions. Older primary school children: create prompt cards together.
