No.10

Keep Your Tissue Up: Tag

Japanese name: 落とさずつかまえろ

Materials

  • One piece of tissue or thin paper per person
  • playing-area markers

How to play

  1. Choose two taggers. Everyone places a tissue or thin paper against their chest or abdomen, never over the face or mouth.
  2. Start on the signal. Run so the airflow holds the paper in place without using your hands. Taggers follow the same rule.
  3. If your paper falls, check around you, stop, pick it up and rest for 5 seconds before restarting. Do not tag a stopped player.
  4. On a gentle tag, swap roles. The new tagger arranges their paper and waits 3 seconds before chasing.
  5. Stop after 30–40 seconds and collect the paper. Drink water, rest and play several rounds with different taggers.

Ways to adapt

Preschool children: no taggers. Older primary school children: two taggers.
