How to play

  1. Walk around with an adult to agree where hiding is allowed. Stay away from roads, building interiors, high places and places that can be locked.
  2. Choose one seeker. The seeker closes their eyes at the meeting point and counts to 20 while everyone else hides within the agreed area.
  3. The seeker calls “Ready?” and waits until everyone has answered “Ready!” before searching.
  4. On finding someone, the seeker calls that person’s name. Found players wait at the meeting point without revealing anyone else’s hiding place.
  5. End when everyone is found or 3 minutes have passed. An adult calls everyone back and checks the headcount. Choose the first person found, or another agreed player, as the next seeker.

Ways to adapt

Preschool children: pair each child with an adult. Even with older primary school children, keep the area limited.
