How to play
- Agree on the playing area, off-limits places and stop signal. Choose one tagger by rock–paper–scissors or another method.
- While the tagger counts to 10, the other players move away within the playing area. The tagger then starts chasing.
- A gentle tag on the back or upper arm makes the tagged player the new tagger. Do not push, grab clothing or block anyone’s path.
- The new tagger announces the change, waits 3 seconds, then starts chasing. Do not immediately tag the previous tagger back.
- End each round after 1–2 minutes. Rest, then give someone who has not been tagger a turn and play again.
Ways to adapt
Preschool children: an adult is the tagger. Younger primary school children: use short rounds. Older primary school children: try two taggers.
