Splat: A Three-Person Reaction Game
Japanese name: スプラット(3人で反応)
Materials
- None
How to play
- Form a circle and choose one caller in the centre. The caller indicates one player with an open palm and says “Splat!” Keep hands away from anyone’s face.
- The chosen player bends their knees slightly on the spot. Only their two immediate neighbours look at each other and answer “Splat!” Everyone else stays still.
- Count one shared success when all three respond in their correct roles. If anyone takes the wrong role, pause, check positions and continue. Do not compare speed or who speaks first; the two neighbours may answer at the same time.
- Choose a different player each time. After five calls, swap the caller with someone in the circle. Finish when everyone has tried the centre or after 10 minutes.
Ways to adapt
Younger primary: practise one trio at a time: middle bends, neighbours speak. Anyone who cannot comfortably bend their knees can place both hands on their chest instead.
