Chapter 6 · Icebreakers

No.131

Introduce Your Partner

Japanese name: ペア紹介

Materials

  • A clock
  • Name or color cards (optional)

How to play

  1. Make pairs. Choose one easy topic, such as a preferred name or a favorite color.
  2. Give each person 30 seconds to tell their partner. You may pass on any item or point to a card.
  3. Join another pair. Introduce only information your partner permits: “This is Sam. Their favorite color is blue.”
  4. The introduced person confirms or corrects it. Finish with applause after all four introductions.

Ways to adapt

Preschool children: an adult reads name cards to help. Younger primary school children: one item. Older primary school children: compose your own introduction.
