Chapter 6 · Icebreakers

No.130

Find Your Jigsaw Partners

Japanese name: ジグソー仲間探し

Materials

  • One large picture per group, cut into 3–4 pieces
  • A table or mat

How to play

  1. Prepare one different picture per group, each cut into 3–4 pieces. Show the complete examples only once at the start.
  2. Give one piece per person. Walk on the signal to find people with connecting pieces.
  3. Assemble possible matches on a table or mat. If pieces belong to different pictures, keep searching.
  4. A completed group raises hands. An adult helps until the final group finishes; end when every picture is complete.

Ways to adapt

Preschool children: two pieces. Younger primary school children: 3–4. Older primary school children: no example or up to six pieces. Do not use small fragments.
