5 sets of 1–2–3; follow the direction shown.

Materials

  • About five sets of flat ground circles numbered 1, 2 and 3
  • Start and finish markers

How to play

  1. Arrange about five sets of circles numbered 1, 2 and 3 along the course. Keep gaps jumpable and leave space between neighboring courses.
  2. Walk through in order, 1–2–3, before taking turns at the start.
  3. On the signal, make two-footed jumps through 1, 2 and 3 in each set toward the finish.
  4. After a wrong order, return to that set’s first circle and retry. The next player starts only after the previous player passes the second set.
  5. Finish when everyone reaches the goal. Celebrate accuracy, then vary the order or course for another attempt.

Ways to adapt

Preschool children: walk through two colors. Older primary school children: try orders such as 1–3–2.
