No.94
Signal, Jump and Run
Japanese name: シグナルジャンプアンドラン
Materials
- Three types of color cards or cones
- Course markings
How to play
- Place three types of markers along a course. For example: red means two two-footed jumps, blue one turn on the spot, yellow three marching steps on the spot.
- Practice every action and marker together. Anyone finding a full turn difficult may use a half-turn.
- Start one at a time. Stop at each marker, perform its action, then continue.
- Retry a mistaken action at that marker. The following player waits until the previous player reaches the next marker.
- Reaching the finish accurately is success. After everyone finishes, change marker order or roles and repeat.
Ways to adapt
Preschool children: two marker types. Older primary school children: 3–4 types in changing orders.
