True-or-False Quiz

Japanese name: 〇×クイズ

Materials

  • One pair of true/false cards (〇 and ×) per person
  • 5–10 questions with verified answers

How to play

  1. Prepare questions with clear answers and explanations. Players sit holding true (〇) and false (×) cards.
  2. Read a question and allow about 10 seconds to think. Agree beforehand whether discussion is allowed.
  3. Everyone raises one card on the signal. “A triangle has three corners” is true (〇). Do not change a displayed answer.
  4. Give the answer and a short reason. You may award 1 point per correct answer, but everyone continues after mistakes.
  5. After all questions, review scores and new discoveries. Volunteers may prepare the next round after checking their questions with an adult.

Ways to adapt

Preschool children: 2–3 picture-supported questions. Younger primary school children: familiar facts. Older primary school children: questions that encourage reasoning.
