No.88
Dodgebee: Soft-Disc Dodgeball
Japanese name: ドッヂビーのディスクドッヂ
Materials
- One soft Dodgebee disc
- Infield and outfield court markings
- Bibs
How to play
- Make two teams, choosing one starting outfield player for each; the rest begin infield. Practice catching a flying disc before playing.
- Throw slowly below opponents’ waists without crossing the line. Never aim at faces or heads.
- If a disc hits you before touching the ground and you cannot catch it, move to outfield. A clean catch or a disc that has already bounced is safe.
- An outfield player who hits an opponent infield may return infield. The same condition applies to the starting outfield player.
- Stop after 3 minutes and compare infield numbers. Change starting outfield players, rest and repeat.
Ways to adapt
Younger primary school children: adults start outfield. Older primary school children: rotate passing roles too.
