No.101
Giant-Ball Roll
Japanese name: 大玉転がし
Materials
- A dedicated lightweight large ball
- Cones
- Route markings
How to play
- Each team works in pairs with a large ball. Mark a wide route to a turning point 5–10 m away. Keep people out of the ball’s path.
- On the signal, both push with their hands from the same side. Do not kick, lift or lean the body onto the ball.
- Turn slowly around the cone and return. If the ball leaves the route, bring it back to that spot before restarting.
- Stop it completely at the handover. The next pair touches it before taking over; do not push it forcefully toward them.
- Finish after all pairs complete the route. Stop equipment before checking results, then rest.
Ways to adapt
Younger primary school children: short walking routes. Older primary school children: add the turn-and-return route.
